The project demanded a rigorous investigation into the exploration of place and the phenomenology of the Karoo. Set roughly on a north south axis within a cosmic national park in a semi arid Karoo dessert. My investigation was to explore the different layers and scales of texture and history within the park. In order to create a centre that enables the visitor to be constantly aware of the link between the natural and human story told inside and surrounding the landscape.
