Mycofarm

Time of study: semester 7

Supervisor: Kevin Fellingham, Nic Coetzer

Having studied mycelium(mushroom root structure) I proposed a mycofarm pavilion. This allowed experimentation with Rhino and Grasshopper to create a mycelium construction rope system based off mycellium growth pattern algrithms.

Mycofarm in Prose : Myco-Memory

In attempting to capture something hyper-regional I have written this narrative on account of the memories of the characters that encapsulate the zeitgeist of the project. It aims to display, through a palimpsest of ideas, how Architecture has emerged from these characters and their need to ‘do good’.
The Architecture is consumed every day by different characters, in different ways, but the architecture itself remains static in the face of time.
